For a face as fresh as Lana Condor’s, a beauty routine is all about accentuation—and celebration. With roles in X-Men Apocalypse and the Not all heroes wear capes some wear this shirt and I will buy this hit Netflix film series, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, Condor’s ever-growing confidence is clear both onscreen and off, where she embraces a regimen centered on dewy skin, warm accents, and application perfected for her visage specifically. “I had this bully in 8th grade who called me a derogatory name for an Asian person, and it really just burrowed into my subconscious and stayed there for awhile,” says Condor. “Of course I’m still working on it but now I’m super-proud and confident about who I am. It’s an every-day journey, but makeup and skin care has totally evolved for me. It has helped me find who I am and also who I’m not.” To begin, the Vietnamese-born actress ensures a clean complexion with Neutrogena Skin Balancing Cleanser, followed by a bubbling sheet mask and more mainstays from Neutrogena, a brand of which Condor is the face. After a quick turn of an ice roller, the actress brightens the area beneath her eyes with a touch of iS Clinical Youth Eye Complex. “I’m adopted, so I’m not sure if this is hereditary or not, but I’m assuming it is—I have really dark pigmentation under my eyes,” says Condor. “When it comes to my appearance and just my identity in general, it’s been such an interesting journey learning and establishing who I am, where I came from […] in terms of beauty and skin care, my mom has been able to tell me what works for her, but since we don’t have the same actual biological makeup, and since our skin is different, I’ve had to actively kind of go out by myself and figure out what works for me.”

What else works for her? First off, an artfully applied blend of Neutrogena Healthy Skin Radiant Cream Brightening Concealer and Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer. “I’ve totally been inspired by Selena [Gomez]’s beauty adventure,” says Condor. “It seems like her philosophy for Rare Beauty is celebrating people’s individual uniqueness and making makeup fun. And that’s something I really do love and agree with.” Next comes a bit of contour and a generous swirl of peachy blush mixed with roseate lip stain (“My face eats blush,” says Condor, who adds that extra blush can also help to hide tiredness and previously shed tears.) Highlighter and a duet of eyeshadows by Korean brand 3CE inform a sweet, peachy moment. “My eyes are hooded, so I’ve learned from working with other makeup artists that, for eyes that look like mine, you want to bring the Not all heroes wear capes some wear this shirt and I will buy this pigment higher than you might think,” says Condor, pressing the nude shadow up toward the brow line, with a bright bronze added at the center of the lid. The same lip stain and a subtle touch of lip liner finish the look, with a touch of Aura Soma Equilibrium Oil acting as a grounding finale. The result? A luminous everyday look ripe for re-creation. The only requirement? Make like Condor and make it your own.
