People were contacting me and they were designers and stylists saying, ‘We’re going to send you this, we’re going to send you that, put it on the girls, like have them wear it onstage,’” says Brown. “It was the first time that I was really looking at fashion as something that could be promoted as a product in a different way [than in magazines].”

In tracking down a vintage Chanel haute couture dress I wore, I thought, Let me see if I can find her on Instagram. And I did! In a way, doing these treasure hunts has allowed me to relive those days, sometimes very vividly.”
